- The title is “Roadmap for Managing Freebies on Xstreet SL” but they’re not only the freebies, it’s everything!
- 0 L$ Items will be charged 99L$ Monthly
- 10L$ Will be charged for all items which cost more than 1L$
- A L$3 commission will raise the commission on all listings under L$50
- Freebies will be sorted different
All this things will came in 30-90 Days from now (18.11.09)
What do i think about this?
A Part of me thinks that this last change will completely crash XStreet, they completely removed the “Free” exposure people can get by listing they’re Items.
Some people just want to give out freebies without advertising they’re brand, and they will now have to pay 99L$ a month.
There are no demo policies that means that if you are a hair/skin maker you will have to decide whether you want to keep your demos at 0L$ and pay 99L$ for each one (ouch) or put them for sale at 1L$ and pay just 10L$ a month
What i Like
- I like this changes because many scammers which sell freebies for +10L$ amounts will probably quit doing that
- I like that it will/would remove a lot of crap from Xstreet
- I like that it will make shopping easier
What DON’T Like
- By removing crap, they’re removing a lot of possibilities for many starting merchants to even get a chance to be successful
- XStreet will loose even more traffic means that adds and featured listings will be even more pointless than now without the forums
What i will do
I will not sit and cry but i will have to delete probably 75% of my sale content and only leave 1 or 2 freebies which are worth to keep, i might move to Apez.biz or other sites which don’t charge for having your products on, any suggestions? leave a comment
JaliscoMexico Biography
When i first joined this guys it was in Havana sims where we just had a park a mall and a tower, very simple, it was just 1/4 of sim so we couldn’t make a lot of stuff, but it’s incredible how we ended up with several sims,
Everything started with Estrellas coming to my house in February 2008, thanks to my girlfriend which teleported her to my house and said that a bed i made was ugly, than she rezzed a mall in her land at Havana which she couldn’t rotate, so i rotated it in a way that worked, probably that made her get my talent building, even if i was a huge newbie at that time, we had several cool things, at that time our team was Alvi Halderman (me), Estrellas Blanco, Joz Jarman, Pameela Criss, rraciel Breda, Catheryn Bashly and probably some others, Joz was Estrella’s boyfriend, Pameela was rraciel’s girlfriend, and i was Cath’s boyfriend. We did just stuff there, probably i was in Havana only a few weeks until Estrellas told me that she paid almost 700$ in tier just for 1/4th of sim, than i told her that we should get one sim, than everything started, the name: JaliscoMexico
JaliscoMexico (Generation 1 Started)
JaliscoMexico was Rezzed at the end of April 2008, what we made is a Region which was Half from us, half to Sell, we were prim eaters, we had a 2000 prim headquarter building, a 1800 prim condo building where all Jalisco friends lived, a mall which was full of freebies at that time, a disco staring djfredopg Dawes which was Estrella’s boyfriend at that time, also my best friend, he still is a great friend of mine but he isn’t logging a lot into SL. Our first tenant was mrs. Agnes Lusch, which only left us in may 2009, at that time JaliscoMexico was one of the most popular Mexican sims of SL, we had daily events which rocked the whole community, and had huge event’s one of those was the 24 hour DJ festival, where we had 24 DJ’s playing music for 1 Hour each, every DJ could be voted, the winner got 10.000L$, we were able to have over 400 unique visitors, maybe at that time that was one of the most remarkable events at that time, we had no bots, it was great fun, i really miss those times…
JaliscoMexico Generation 2
After Estrellas was offline because there was a hurricane where she lives she thinked and realized that Generation 1 Jalisco was not profitable (in L$), so Jalisco sim turned into a 4 Street sim, which mostly had land for sale, at that Jalisco Generation we celebrated our JM4B (JaliscoMexico 4th Birthday) Which was a 100 People at the same time party in a pretty nice stage i made 
, we also had our JaliscoTower, which had a Check-board look, after that we had a more Cylindrical tower, where a guy called Pendelton Martinek lived, and ended upowning 1/4 of Jalisco and made his own mini city, we had to separate our protected land from his with signs, after he set all his places at 20L$ per prim a week and no one rented he closed everything and i think he left SL, after that the land got subdivided in small parcels for small homes.
JaliscoMexico Generation 3
Jalisco got subdivided in small houses and had several buildings, one of them was a discotheque which got pretty scandalous because the disco owner was not very professional and had late payments, we also had our green tower which got moved from Lionheart Sims to JaliscoMexico with a Very efficient building style which benefited both the neighbors and the tenants in the tower.
JaliscoMexico Generation 4
Jalisco got completely cleared and closed for 3 Weeks, when several structures were made, the Jalisco Fashion Boulevard, the Margaritas Neighbor and the Arcos Hotel, right after some time the Arcos Hotel got closed and the “Plaza del Nuevo Progreso” got opened, which was basically a Colosseum which also was a disco, after that Margaritas Neighbor got expanded over Nuevo Progreso after the closing of South Star sim.
I always thought that Jalisco isn’t just a place where you buy land, it’s a place where you are a friend of your neighbor and participate in the sim’s activity
SLDSSH: SL’s Dramatic Story Spam Hype
It’s incredible how this, dramatic story can go across tons of SL groups in a few minutes, i firstly found this spam in one of my Advertising groups, i said, whatever, than i saw it in my sim’s events group and i said “that’s fast” but after that i found the spam in the “Intelli Book Factory” Group and in the “Triple Labs Security System Support” and i got fascinated, probably already 3000 Residents got the IM’s in a few minutes.
Jenifer Martinek is Jenifer Seabra in rl ( brasilian )and she is missing from home for 4 days. Her parents are worried about her, as she told her parents that she was going to travel with a friend and now they found that she was going to meet someone from SL (Second Life).

So my first reaction was:
- Looking for her on Facebook, Myspace and so on, but i found just RL Jenifer Martinek’s so it’s probably ridiculous (i bet there is no Jenifer Seabra)
- Checking her SL Profile which is EMPTY (I don’t think she left all her groups and deleted all her profile stuff just to go and meet her boyfriend, (If this was real maybe her boyfriend forced her to do that via RL)
Am i loosing time writing this?
So yeah, it’s not the first and will not be the last time i get this ridiculous stories about missing people, radars that get all the money out of you, people which copybot you by watching your profile and etc

The Void thing
As we have seen on the latest Second Life post about grandfathered Homesteads, Linden Lab wants to recover the thousands of openspace sims that were abandoned after the 95$ and the later 125 US$ increase, but now after so many sims that were abandoned, Linden Lab’s decided to offer us a 95$ price until January 2010 if we buy one now or reactivate the old abandoned ones.
I think they’re main target is to recover lost clients and get more temporary clients that buy the homestead to have it 6 months until January 2010, its a pretty good catch but i still wouldn’t buy one, because we still can buy one without having a full sim, and that really sucks after they raise the price, what i know about technology is that, it gets cheaper and cheaper as time passes, but maybe LL not know that.
Maybe it’s my frustration, maybe it’s something else too
Drama?
Why people make such a big drama in SL?
I Was flying around my sim and a guy that was heavy armed was following me so he bumped me, his hud said something like “Alvi Halderman bumped you” so he started to tell my that why am i bumping him, when he was bumping me, so to avoid drama i tried to make him understand that he is bumping me, he started to get aggressive, and he said like “Say goodbye to your account because I’ll report you” when i should have reported him in the first place, so at the end of the day i banned, muted and reported him, of course he was a noob.
Stories like this happen daily without any reason, i saw the other day a very cool house on the mainland so i wanted to check out who the creator is, so i see the creator’s profile and his profile said like “ITS YOUR PROBLEM IF YOU LOOSE YOUR ITEMS” DON’T IM ME, the house was 17.000L$ and what you first know is that the builder is very unfriendly person.
Maybe this post sounds like drama, but it’s more like being sick of drama
